In the UK, 1 in 10 girls cannot afford adequate sanitary products to manage their period. This means they can miss up to a week of school every month, causing a huge strain on their education and well being. Some girls are forced to use socks, newspaper or toilet roll to manage their period which causes a whole range of problems.

The Red Box Project is a nationwide project that is made up of local branches. It’s completely volunteer-run and works with schools to provide girls with sanitary products for the entirety of their period.

When we heard about this project we jumped at the chance to host a donation point in both of our shops!

We will be collecting sanitary towels, tampons, menstrual cups, underwear and wet wipes to ensure that no girl has to miss school because of her period.
