Shared Space was established by Church from Scratch back in 2010. The church was looking to work with the people of Southend to run a creative new volunteering project. Over the years it developed into what we now know as Shared Space. At the start of 2016 the project had grown and it was time to set up Shared Space as a charity in its own right – this then allowed Shared Space to continue to develop and grow.
Church from Scratch continues to actively partner with Shared Space in London Road, Westcliff and with Shared Space eBay. The church runs weekly ‘Life and Faith Group’ in the shop, where volunteers and members of the public can eat, talk and pray together. You will also see Shared Space volunteers joining with Church from Scratch members on regular trips, and working on activites together around the town.
